Christmas Countdown...... 2 days to go

It is getting so close to Christmas now and I hope you have all been having a nice relaxing and fun Christmas preparation.

As I was thinking this morning about the last bit of Christmas shopping I have to do I was reminded of the great organisation we will be helping with  out Fawcett Family Christmas donation this year.  So in today's countdown post I though we could talk about that group for a moment.

But before we do I have a request for you all. Please email me or comment on this post any Christmas music you would like me to add to the playlist for Friday night. What are your  favourite songs for Christmas? If you can comment that would be great and we can start a discussion on the topic but if not just send me a quick email :)

Stitches of Hope Cambodia
From the website: http://www.stitchesofhopecambodia.com

Stitches of Hope is passionate about providing clean water, sanitation, homes for families and education for the children. We sponsor skills training to empower and enrich the lives of under privileged widows, young girls and families i Cambodia.
We have commenced loans to those who are keen to improve their lifestyle and provisions for their villages and families, taking them out of the poverty mentality cycle which has been part of their generational line. The loans to village people can be as small as $50 - $100 to enable them to purchase the necessary stock or equipment to fulfil a dream they have had in their heart for many years.
For example, on one occasion people gathered to welcome us to their village. We shared a little of our life with them and walked along the track to visit many of their homes. They loved having us there and the leaders discussed with us how we could help them.

This is a typical Cambodian village home
We financed material for new roofs for 30 homes and bamboo for the floors, many of the homes were in a bad state of disrepair. We also paid for 30 water filters, a second hand motor bike for the leader of the community, 5 bicycles to enable some of the village people to transport their vegetables to market. Tables and chairs, books and pens, white board and markers to start some of these precious children in their education.

Looking forward to seeing you all on Friday and being able to join together in supporting this cause :)

Remember to take some time to just enjoy the fun and excitement of this season!
